Well? Did you watch the video? Moving wasn’t
it?
I did receive a response from a cousin in
Canada who tells me that this girl happens to be the daughter of David
Suzuki a prominent Canadian environmentalist. But, hey, it was still a great
speech.
This week, I’ve really begun to get my act
together. I took delivery of a new computer a couple of weeks ago and spent
much of the first week swapping computers. As always, his was far more
involved than it seemed. C’est la vie. Now that
that is done, I have begun to organise.
I started by producing three lists:
Unfinished Projects; Urgent and Important Tasks; and Declutter. Some of the
Urgent and Important Tasks were rather embarrassing; I had about six weeks
of unsorted mail to deal with and I had a wallet full of card receipts that
needed sorting (again, about six weeks worth). This was, at first,
overwhelming so I needed a strategy. I decided that I would just pick the
most important and work on it until it was done; no scheduling tasks or
anything complicated. It worked. It took a week but I did it. Boy does that
feel better.
Next week, I’ll tell you about Stephen
Covey’s simple method for prioritising tasks and I’ll tell you about my
plans for writing my novel.
Till then, this is Yours Truly signing off.
